Spider Solitaire — 2 Suits (Medium)
Also known as Spider Solitaire or two-deck solitaire — 104 cards in 10 columns, playable at 1, 2 or 4 suits.
Two-suit Spider adds the real spider dilemma: mixed-suit stacks are legal but cannot be moved as one. Keep spades with spades and hearts with hearts whenever you can — the game below starts in 2-suit mode automatically.

How to play Spider Solitaire — the rules
- Goal: build eight complete runs from King down to Ace in a single suit — each finished run flies off the table automatically.
- Stack cards downward regardless of suit (any 7 can go on any 8) — but only same-suit runs can be picked up and moved together.
- An empty column accepts any card or run — empty columns are your most powerful tool.
- Tap the stock to deal one new card onto every column. Every column must have at least one card before you can deal.
- Start with 1 suit to learn the flow, then move up to 2 suits and finally the full 4-suit game.
Keyboard: Tab or arrow keys to move around, Enter to move a run, D to deal, Ctrl+Z to undo.
Deals are random, like a real shuffle — not every Spider deal can be won, especially with 4 suits. The daily deal is the same for everyone worldwide.
How to win 2 Suit Spider Solitaire
- The whole game is the mixed stack. Putting a heart on a spade is legal and often tempting, but that pile can never move as one unit again until you take it apart. Accept a mixed move only when it turns a face-down card or empties a column.
- An empty column is worth more here than at one suit, because it is the only place you can unpick a mixed run. Open one before you are forced to, not after.
- When two moves look equal, follow the suit. Same-suit sequences stay portable; mixed ones become furniture.
- Count what a deal will cost before you take it. Ten new cards land on ten columns, and every mixed junction you left behind gets buried one layer deeper.
How hard is 2 Suit Spider Solitaire?
Two suits is the step where planning starts to matter more than luck. With unlimited undo most deals can be finished; played straight through without undo the win rate falls a long way below the one-suit game. The rules are identical — what changes is that roughly half the moves the game will let you make now create a stack you cannot move again.

2 Suit Spider Solitaire — questions
Is 2 suit Spider Solitaire harder than 1 suit?
Considerably. The rules do not change, but with two suits about half of the legal moves build a pile you can no longer move as a unit. One-suit Spider forgives careless ordering; two-suit does not.
Can every 2 suit Spider Solitaire game be won?
No. The deal here is a real random shuffle rather than a guaranteed-solvable one, so some hands cannot be finished however well you play. Unlimited undo lets you explore a hand instead of losing it to one wrong move.
What is the best opening in 2 suit Spider Solitaire?
Look for the column you can empty fastest rather than the longest run you can build. An empty column is the only tool you have for taking a mixed sequence apart later, and openings that chase a long mixed run usually cost you that option.
